Conference day 1: Media integrity, disinformation and foreign interference

During the first day of the conference, MEPs, academics from various disciplines, and representatives from the media and the digital industry will come together to explore what the new European Democracy Shield entails and how Spain can prepare for the challenges posed by geopolitics and artificial intelligence.

The second roundtable addresses the European Democracy Shield from the current geopolitical and regulatory situation in Spain and the need to adapt to the protection of elections, the work of the media and public administration to an increasingly uncertain infromation environment due to geopolitics and the use of artificial intelligence.

Conference day 2: Geopolitics and Artificial Intelligence: is Spain ready to apply the Democracy Shield?

The second day will bring together academics from various disciplines to analyse Spain's preparation to incorporate the concept of information integrity and ongoing implementation of the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA), as well as how Spain can prepare for the challenges posed by geopolitics and artificial intelligence within the framework of the European Democracy Shield.
