23 April 2026 The first day will begin with an opening address by Nathalie Loiseau, Member of the European Parliament and Chair on the Special Committee on the European Democracy Shield, followed by high-level panel discussions featuring national and international experts. Attendees will be invited to actively participate in collaborative working groups to assess and propose ways to strengthen the state of the public sphere. |
24 April 2026 The second day will bring together academics from various disciplines to analyse the ongoing implementation in Spain of the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA), as well as how Spain can prepare for the challenges posed by geopolitics and artificial intelligence within the framework of the European Democracy Shield. |

Ha sido investigadora visitante en la Universidad de Harvard (1998-99) y ha impartido docencia en varias universidades europeas como el IEP de Burdeos, Paris-Dauphine o Varsovia. Su investigación se ha centrado en el análisis de la tradición liberal, el pluralismo político, los conceptos de libertad, las teorías de la democracia, la representación política y la participación ciudadana, y los discursos sobre la legitimidad en la UE. Entre 2009 y 2011 fue directora general de Relaciones con las Cortes Generales del Ministerio de la Presidencia de España.

Professor of Political Science
Está interesado en el surgimiento y circulación de debates en las esferas públicas europeas. Fue el Coordinador Académico de los cursos de Estudios Generales Europeos del Colegio de Europa en Brujas entre 2012 y 2018. Obtuvo un doctorado en ciencias políticas de la Universidad Robert Gordon en Aberdeen y también ha ocupado cargos de investigación y docencia en la Universidad de East Anglia y Salamanca. Su principal campo de investigación es la emergencia de los debates europeos en la esfera pública.
