OpenEUdebate is the result of a Jean Monnet network funded by the EU between 2018 and 2023. It is a platform for the dissemination of knowledge about the European Union. It aims to facilitate debate between different types of experts – academics, politicians, journalists or civil society – to promote an informed and open debate on future policies and dilemmas. To do this, it brings together different groups of experts and knowledge centres in specialized hubs that share analysis and information openly and invite anyone who wants to discuss it to join the debate. The participating hubs are committed to informed and orderly public deliberation as a way to advance ideas and discover new proposals. The platform is open for different actors in the public sphere to create their hubs, discover new forms of knowledge and collaborate in organizing debates that bring different audiences into contact.
In this space, we invite you to participate in meaningful and constructive discussions on a wide variety of issues affecting our society. Our mission is to foster an open, respectful and enriching environment where all voices are heard and critical reflection is promoted.
We strongly believe in the importance of informed deliberation and the exchange of ideas as fundamental pillars of a strong democracy. Here, you will find the opportunity to explore different perspectives, learn from others and expand your knowledge on issues that are relevant and pertinent today.
